You Can Help Feed Families Directly

Every Donation Counts

Thousands of people in Ottawa are unable to access food due to low incomes, living conditions, and disabilities.

A donation of any size can go a long way. Every donation counts – in fact, a $20 donation feeds a family of four. We pour every dollar into helping people in need. Please click below to donate. If you prefer donating time please continue to the form below.

*You will be directed the CanadaHelps secure site for donations.

There's a seat for you at our table. Here's how you can join Food For Thought.

Volunteers help Food For Thought thrive! No matter what your skill set or experience is, we'll be more than happy to invite you into our team. Specifically, you can do one or more of the following:

  • Cooking and food prep in the kitchen (if you have solid cooking experience)

  • Delivery to our clients

  • Organizational work in the kitchen

  • Tasks for people with experience in executive, administrative, managerial, or communications roles

Why Volunteer

Food For Thought is all about community, and that extends to our kitchen. Our team is full of people with diverse backgrounds, and we'd love to include you in the mix.

Volunteering with Food For Thought is a great opportunity to have fun while helping others directly. Our kitchen is a joyful environment, always filled with laughter, care, and aromas that will make your mouth water.

Plus, you'll make great friendships with the people you serve – that's the power of food! Everyone has a story to tell, and you'll learn a lot about food insecurity and the people it affects.

Thinking about volunteering? Answer the following questions:

  • Do you want to help people in your community directly?

  • Do you care about food insecurity, or want to learn more?

  • Do you want to work in a fun, multicultural environment where anyone is welcomed?
