Welcome, Sous Chef Linh Do!

Linh Do, a mother of four, came to Canada from Vietnam in 2017 speaking very little English. Anxious to find employment, Linh enrolled to study English at the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization. Within a year, Linh achieved the highest level of learning the program had to offer. Then, she enrolled in Algonquin College’s Hospitality, Hotel, and Restaurant Management program.

Graduating from Algonquin in 2021, Linh entered the culinary industry at a challenging time with the COVID 19 Pandemic wreaking havoc on the hospitality sector. But, with the support of her Algonquin teacher, our very own executive chef, Scot Cunningham, Linh landed a job at Tavern at the Gallery. She has since joined Food for Thought alongside her mentor.

We are very happy to welcome Linh to our kitchen. Besides preparing delicious Vietnamese meals for us, she is a star barista, and our espresso machine is now expertly handled! We look forward to introducing delicious Asian meals, prepared by Linh, to our take-out menu soon!
