Pumpkins to Gold - Our Community Helps Us Serve Thousands!

One of our volunteers brought all of the locally-pumpkins, collected from the OSEAN

“With Halloween over, many pumpkins are being put into the green bin, but some have a new purpose. The Ottawa South Eco Action Network (OSEAN) set out to collect pumpkins. Those that were carved went to feed livestock and the intact ones found their way to Food for Thought. Read the full CTV article by Peter Szperling. Currently, we are transforming half a ton of donated pumpkins into thousands of beautiful meals for those in need. Pictured below is our Pumplin Erissery dish made from Chef Joe’s very own, gold-medal-winning cookbook, Coconut Lagoon, available in our online shop.
