A Volunteer's Story: Linda Robbins

Linda played a leading role in our government addressing food insecurity before she started volunteering with Food for Thought. She is a retired home-economist from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and a member of the Culinary Federation of Ottawa. One of her projects, the Nutritious Food Basket annual report, is still being used by Food for Thought to better understand and fight food insecurity in Ottawa.

Linda's criteria for deciding how she spends her time are simple. If she can help others while working with food and passionate people, then she’s all in! She comes in several times a week to work alongside our other volunteers and staff, and she can process 50 lbs of carrots in 20 minutes flat! In the photo above, she's sharpening her sweet potato-peeling skills! We're grateful that Linda shares her passions with us in our kitchen.
